07-05-05 Origins 2005

Origins 2005 was a huge success for us on a promotional level. True we did sell a few copies, but the big victory was the exposure. We made a lot of contacts and met our friends at Key 20 and IPR (Indy Press Revolution) for the first time. We learned a lot and made many new industry contacts, at the retail and distributor levels as well as with reviewers. There was excellent response to Jake Richmond's artwork and we ourselves got to see the finalized product for the first time. We were very hard pressed to get the books printed in time, and so had to have some shipped to the convention where we picked them up. This convention was a learning experience and will help us plan for Gen Con much more efficiently. Though everything inside the hall went very well, once we stepped foot outside the hall, everything went to hell. We'll be releasing a small promotional game called "Escape from Ohio" very soon which will describe in detail our misadventures outside the convention during the weekend of Origins. And we also have come up with a promotional "collectable business card game" which several of our cohorts will be participating in with us.
