FACTIONS: Assassin's guild: The assassins guild only exists through extortion, and bribery. They operate underground and unseen by the authorities unless the said authorities have been bought off, in which case they often hire them to take of troublesome work. The assassin's guild answers to a central leader who puts various individuals in charge of certain cells of assassins only on a per job basis. They possess many small safe houses under inns, shops, or homes, or simply in underground tunnels or in small sewer service rooms. The Black Hand The black hands are a loosely organized group of bandits that have plagued the Stormwind region of Andora off and on for over two hundred years. This group of cut-throats, highwaymen, marauders and burglars is the closest thing to a thieves guild known on Rivium. There are rumors of this organization taking marching orders from a much older and nefarious organization known as the underthrone, an ancient brotherhood of thieves and assassins which is thought to have been rooted out and destroyed centuries ago, But whispers crop up from time to time, and the title of 'king of the underthrone' seems to be uttered in association with the black hand more and more as of late. The Great City of Damantin/ Machinist's Guild The primary home of the dwarves on the continent of Andora. This huge spanning city resides primarily beneath the anklock mountains, with emerging spires which overlook the lands around. This huge city has a network of tracks and vertical pipes which transport carriage-like cars all over the city and surrounding mines. This city is home to a prolific sea vessel known as the juggernaught, an enormous twenty deck tall vessel which can swallow entire ships for the purpose of transport to other seas, as the juggernaught is also an airship. This city is also home to the machinist's guild which is almost entirely dwarven. This guild creates many innovations and weapons which are spread throughout the world. Kingdom is ruled by a council of seven under one Emperor appointed from that council. Fighter's Guild/Hiring halls: The fighter's guild is a loosely organized association, mainly operating as a hiring facility for soldiers of fortune to seek work. They offer many services ranging from being bodyguards, to direct approach assassinations. The fighter's guild works in close conjunction with local authorities to ensure that all bounties are legal, and that they condone all assassination orders. The Hand of Ashara: A church of Cosmic magic devoted to the deity Ashara, who is, by doctrine believed to be the daughter of Sirius, the goddess of Good, by this belief they are very closely allied with the order of the five, the church which worships Sirius. Ashara's hand is well noted as major players in global events involving politics and sovereignty of peaceful nations, and locally as law enforcement, establishing many of the jurisdictions within the towns they operate in. The paladins of Ashara's church are noted as some of the most devout religious men and women around. The church allows any race which pronounces their loyalty and faith to join their order. The Harlequins: A roving caravan of Dark elves, which travel across the continent of Andora, they are much like a traveling gypsy carnival, bringing performances, trade and great deals of strange and powerful oddities wherever they go. They are highly revered and respected, but also highly feared. Anyone who has tangled with the Harlequins as a whole has never been seen again. Individually there are some conflicts, but most are resolved in mundane ways by law enforcement officials. They are generally an honest lot, but a few bad apples can always be found. They move from the high elf city of elderon to the dwarven castle Nor deep in the south, and back to the fullbright forest, their homeland, and then back towards Elderon, making spots along their route. The Hunters of Yeld: Once a great empire ruled over by Dragul, the lord of the Nosferatu, today, Yeld is known as the great continent of Andora. All that remains of Dragul's special forces is a group known as the Hunters of Yeld. Their position passed down from generation to generation until such time one of Dragul's servants and member of the hunters would seek out its members and prepare for a campaign designed by either Dragul himself or whatever powerful Nosferatu Lord humbly requested their support from Dragul. Known by very few people, those who have heard their name shutter in fear at the utterance of it. The Jovian Empire: The human empire operates from a central city known only as the imperial city at the center of the continent of Andora. They are constantly at odds with the Nosferatu houses. The imperials hold sway over the Stormwind region as well as many other out skirting areas, they control areas as far as the east side of the Sanguine sea to the pendelhaven forest to the fullbright forest. Their realm reaches from the anklock mountains to the north end of the valley of the Nor. Magic user's Coalition: The magic user's coalition (or MUC) operates out of the city of Teldrin on the Northeastern edge of the Jovian empire. This organization is more of a corporately driven bureaucracy regarding magic and has no attachment with the mage's guild, which is a much older organization. The MUC regulates magical trade within it's jurisdiction and handles such issues as quality control, safety, fair trade and pricing practices and much more. They do not have a hierarchy of membership like the mage's guild does, rather just a basic governing board that works closely with the merchant's guild. Kingdom of Nor: Nor is an overworld dwarven kingdom which works peacefully with the Imperials as well as Elderon. They have been at war for many years with the Vampire of castle Brimstone. Which has limited the span of their empire. Nor chiefly a mining and forge city. They produce everything from primitive firearms and cannons to melee weapons and armor. They export these wares all over the world. The Order of The Five: The order of the five is a very covertly powerful church which worships Sirius the goddess of good. This order mainly acts on events which effect the overall hegemony of power within the world. They are key in thwarting great evils and keeping tabs on great forces of magic. This order believes very heavily in the prophecy and has seen several of the events written within it come to pass. The coming of the five ankhs of power from Sirius is the origin of their name and their main purpose. Several key legendary figures operate within this order and they are a very exclusive organization. Their local temples and churches however accept anyone from the general population and the paladins are some of the most respected individuals in the world. Many high level agents of various kingdoms and factions come from this guild. They do not operate in any settlement, rather they have mobile camps which rove all over the world, and any who they wish to join their ranks are approached, and any who are able to actually find them on their own are welcomed to try and join. All members are marked over the right eye with two vertical lines like claw marks. They also are bestowed a magical power which is of their namesake, the soul thief.
