July 27th 2006 Issue #8

So What's new? well we continue to grind away and try and make a bigger better product. The cure for cancer perhaps it is not, but you'll have a hell of a fun time with it nonetheless. We're currently in the bouncing ideas off the wall stage with several new game products which range from a card based expandable table table game, a tile based strategy game, and a board game which has nothing to do with the CROE universe, but could prove to be a hilarious effort.

KeyCon Game Days

Working together with our small press consolidator, Key 20 LLC, we have been talking with several other like-minded manufacturers about doing what we are loosely terming "Key cons" which are to be one day events hosted at local game stores in the northwest where several small manufacturers come together to demo their products, show the retails what we have to offer, and how better to demo and sell our products. We all have a great spirit of cooperative effort and are all more than willing to demo one another's products at these events. If you know of a game store located anywhere in the Oregon and Washington area, please let us know so that we can hit these stores and hit them hard. We plan to by September have a starting schedule planned out for these game day events, and will keep you informed about them.

New products in development
As always we are continually working to try and make more for you to buy and more ways for you to waste your time and love it in doing so. We are at the moment looking into different styles of game such as expandable card games (expansion sets not booster packs), board games, and a line of miniatures. With the help of our strategic printing partner; Avalon Innovations, and their resources, we are able to look into new ways of bringing you bigger better games. One such current project is tentatively titled: CROE: Skirmish, and will be a tabletop, mat played, tile based strategy game featuring many familiar elements form the CrossRoads world. The strategy game will involve deploying tiles onto the 10X10 battle grid, and proceeding to use their abilities, or the abilities of units still in your hand to defeat your foe. The game can feature between 2 and 4 players and is currently under development.

Looking for Artists
We're currently looking for individuals who may want to contribute artistically to the Omnibus series by contributing artwork, short articles, content, or other material, which will enhance the CrossRoads world. Are you a fan of the CROE with a little talent, or perhaps just a freelancer looking to get more exposure? We are willing to pay 4 cents per word, or $5 per illustration, which may fit our needs for issues of Omnibus. This effort is to help us get an expanded pool of talent to contribute to the CROE, and also to perhaps get a few already working artists interested in the CrossRoads world. Please contact us for information.

Omnibus #2
We are near completion of Omnibus #2 and will soon begin working on Omnibus #3. As soon as Omnibus #2 is finished look for it to be available through distribution and at local stores who carry Arcadiam Games products. Omnibus #2 had a play test arc sent out to several individuals who expressed interest in being a play tester and, overall I was very disappointed in the response we got from people who received information… That is to say I'm disappointed in the lack of response. So in the future every active contributor will receive their names in the credits of the product they help with, and also will receive a free copy of the book they worked on. To receive this you will have to follow all instructions given and provide constructive feedback for us to work with. Look for Omnibus #2 in the next 90 days. It will be available direct by the end of August.
