Have you ever dreamt of being a great adventurer, or perhaps a thief, a king, a warrior or even a powerful wizard? Well all of these can describe your character's trade in the Cross Roads of Eternity RPG. Any class under the sun can fall into one of the twenty trade classes in the base game. Many more specialized trades will be added in future expansions, but these core twenty will describe anything you could possibly want to be, from a mercenary to a merchant, a farmer to a diplomat. We have spent a great deal of time and effort to create balanced trades, so that your starting characters are all balanced. No more ultra-powerful fighters or wimpy wizards, all classes begin with exactly the same amount of points to begin with. All trades are given specific skills which distinguish them from other classes, yet in character creation, you are also given plenty of extra points to differentiate your character from another of the same trade. Below follows a list of the special trades available in the Cross Roads of Eternity RPG:

The most lethal of killers, they silently stalk their prey in taverns and alleyways in search of the best time to quietly slip them the knife. Assassins are stealthy and coldly decisive about their work. Willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, most assassins will stop at nothing if the price is right. Assassins of the Assassin's Guild will take a contract from anyone able to pay the toll, even from both sides of a conflict. Many a conflict has been ended by an assassin's blade with the death of both leaders, killed by the very same assassin. The Empire of Jovin and many of the Nosferatu Houses employ their own assassins, which they deploy during the Battle for Andora.

A minstrel, a performer, a storyteller, a herald. No matter what task they are hired for, they do it with eloquence and panache. The bard is a useful person to have around for they always seem to know what is going on around them, and have the ins with just the right people. Need a password to get into the underground? Try your local bard. Perhaps you need to know the name of a man who's interested in hiring an assassin? Yes they'd know it too. Maybe just the location of the best beer in town? The bard will certainly know. Throughout the battle fronts of Andora, many bards are held close at hand to lift the spirits of the war torn troops of the great war with a little story or song of glee and amusements. Other bards are often used as spies to gather information within occupied settlements. The Imperial Legion enlists many minstrel bards to accompany their banner bearers into battle at the heads of their armies.

The hardest choice to make, magic or metal? Strength or spell casting? Why not both? The battle mage is the perfect balance between a warrior and a wizard. They are deadly with both weapons and magic. Specializing in elemental magic, these people are not to be taken lightly, for they take very little lightly themselves. They are one of the more useful types of guards to have close to people of importance. The Order of the Phoenix in Elderon has some of the most famed Battlemages in all of Rivium. These powerful warrior wizards venture into battle in units of four, one caster of each elemental realm to supplement one another's magical prowess. Other Battlemages are used as honor guards in the Imperial Palace, and some decide to venture out as mercenary guards to whoever can pay the price, or whoever has the cause which best suits them.

They travel the world both far and wide in search of their quarry to barter and sell. These masters of the wild capture and trade in many wondrous creatures both for the amusement of the aristocrat's menagerie and the bolstering of people's armies. He sells these beasts to farm owners and to generals, kings and caravans. Many specialize in particular types, while other try and amass as many types as they can. During the great wars of Andora the beast masters find themselves employed to form units of shock troops from the vicious types of creatures found across the world of Rivium, for the beast master to break, train and set loose upon the enemy. Others find themselves employed to thwart such units of creatures by breaking them off from their unit and attempting to dominate and turn them against those who sent them forth.

The forgers of great weapons of war and of shoes for your horses. These craftsmen are some of the most valued members of the marketplace. A skilled weapon or armor smith can make a very fine living for themselves as their wares create a name for him. Others can be simple makers of tools and hardware for the common man. Either way they present an integral part of society. The outcome of the war often is dependant on how sharp one's blade is and how hard their armor, so the blacksmith is vital to ensuring that both are such. Armies across Andora from the Imperials to Elderon have blacksmiths amongst the many support units in their armies just to make sure that weapons and armor work well and that their mounts are firmly shawed. Other blacksmiths take a more private approach by supplying services and wares to whomever is willing to pay the price, no matter the side they have chosen.

The Cleric is a beacon of holy magic, they are not afraid to bear arms when necessary and wield powerful sacred magic when in combat. Priests, Clergy, Monks, or Crusaders, they go by many names but no matter the title, these holy fighters are not to be trifled with when that which they believe in is threatened. The darkness which has arisen in this time of the second conquest of Andora makes the cleric one of the most valued and important resisters and leaders of the campaigns. The Cleric is looked to as a spiritual guide and a protector from evil. More powerful clerics can protect and conceal entire armies to allow them safe passage into the depths of enemy territory where they can do the most damage. The cleric is also key with its Divine magic in healing wounded forces on the battlefields. Other clerics which remain at home are just as vital to the well being of the people who sit anxiously aside and await what could prove their demise or their lasting freedom as the clerics attempt to calm, reassure and protect those around her. From many religious factions and orders, the Clerics have set aside their dogmatic differences for the most part to unify against this horrific threat that endangers all of Rivium.

Some magic users are given a gift of a sixth sense. This sense is that of the second sight, being able to see beyond the physical world and see beings of the next realm, the afterlife or the in-between. These entrepreneurs fall on either side of the spectrum, they are either skilled paranormals who seek to make their riches by appeasing ghosts or destroying them, and other are mere illusionists who conjure the spirits in order to make the appearance of a useful service. Con men of the greatest order, or powerful celestially gifted hunters, both find their niche in the throngs of this terrible war. Ghost hunters are often employed in units as soldiers to specifically fight ethereal beings which may be at the command of enemy forces, others are freelancers who continue to practice their trade, wandering from city to city just ahead of the battle which quickly rages behind them. Other ghost hunters are employed to be personal body guards to important figures since even the most powerful warrior or wizard may have a hard time striking a foe who has no physical presence.

Merchants come more varied than the wares they sell. Some will try and con you out of the shirt on your back, and others will give you an excellent value for your money. Some sell junk and others sell priceless treasures. You will come across a few of each in your travels. A merchant can specialize in certain types of merchandise or be a general merchant of all your daily needs. It is up to you to decide. The need for resources of all kinds heightens with the flames of war, and the merchant is the first one to profit from it, either by choice or simply by the reality of the situation. Many merchants in this great war find themselves following waves of combat to swoop in and offer their services at a premium. Others go about their day to day operation in their home town, hoping that the battlefront will not come to their door, Some merchants travel with groups of combatants to use their industry connections to barter for the needed resources so as to make the funds for the campaign last that much longer.

A practitioner of the dark and diabolic arts. They seek power through the quickest route possible, and the cost of their own souls and a certain degree of control over their magic or themselves. The necromancer controls the dead, and all things vile. Calling upon the powers of demonic forces, these powerful wizards have droves of minions at their beckon call. The Necrobane was an ancient cult of necromancer long thought extinct, but the rise of the Nosferatu Lord Azmodan and the march of the seven houses to take Elderon in this great battle for Andora has seen the revival of this dark entity. Many necromancers heard the call and joined its numbers, while others struggle to maintain power for their own purposes. In this dark war most of the diabolic power is focused upon Dragul and thus most mana of this nature is pulled from necromancers not directly aiding his efforts.

Soldiers of fortune in many ways who are skilled at both dexterous acts and combat. These warriors are masters of many weapon types, and are as stealthy as assassins. They are employed as thieves, assassins, warriors, guards, and much more. The ninja cannot be trusted. They have no code of honor which governs their actions like samurai do. Originating primarily on Meshu, the ninja have established several schools and communes in remote places across Andora, hiring their agents out to whomever could pay the price. The ninja has no moral code which governs their selection of jobs and therefore will work for anyone, good or evil. Many find themselves employed by the imperials as spies and assassins to uncover enemy plans and assassinate non-nosferatu leaders which move against the greater good, and others find themselves hired by nosferatu agents as pawns to attempt to strike at the heart of the resistance to the seven houses' campaign.

A noble of noble blood, as if there were any other kind. These people ate bred for leadership. They can be lords, or kings, or princes or simply local governors or a myriad of other politicians. They can be generals or captains. Their word is law in their domain, and they almost always have many resources available to them that most other classes do not. Many of their insurrections in their realm go unpunished and they are given special treatments. Nobles of many great and illustrious families are even now playing a decided role in the future outcome of the war against the seven houses. Emerpor Galadrone of Elderon, Emperor Nyalith of the imperial city, his son Despain, Lord Teranan of Stormwind and a host of other nobles now strive to rally support across Andora to thwart the ever-growing threat of the enemy. Nobles of all bloodlines are finding themselves called forth and appealed to, to lend whatever aid they can.

These holiest of warriors, the paladin will defend with their very soul, that which they know to be right. Their righteousness makes them nearly invulnerable to evil temptation. They possess great divine powers and are skillful with weaponry. Essentially they are divine battle mages. These beings are so zealous in what they believe in; that they will stop at nothing at uphold it. The church of Suria and the Church of Ashara have established an alliance with one another under the Surian church Arch Cleric Terianus of Teledorn. Many great paladins are even now being sent to camps on the primary battle fronts of this ever building war, and many more are enlisting with hopes of attaining rank as a paladin. Paladins of the God Akaros also aid in the battles, but seem to be more directly concerned with the thwarting of the demonic creatures which seem to be making a resurgence in this war.

A survivalist, naturalist, and scout. These people are skilled in living off the land like no other. A ranger can last in the wild indefinitely. They are particularly skilled in tracking, hunting and covert action in the wilderness. A ranger is skilled with a bow and arrow, but is no slouch with other weapons either. They do what they must and are not guided by any of force other than that of the natural world, or whoever happens to hire them for a task. In this conflict the rangers often have the most deadly task of scouting out enemies deep behind their front lines. Rangers from everywhere on Andora are being employed by members of the Andoraian Order to traverse harsh wilderness in search of enemy encampments. Many others are being employed by the Nosferatu armies to track the movements of this defending alliance. Rangers all across the continent are also doing their best to get innocent people out of harms way by moving them from their homes to safe havens deep within forests and in the hills of mountain ranges when their villages and homesteads are in the path of impending battle.

The honor bound master of the blade. The samurai live by a strict code of conduct and ethics. They live by the blade and believe that it is an extension of their soul. Samurai are hired by noble houses to act as guards of the highest order. Samurai while masters of swords, they are also very skilled with long bows and at riding. Having orders across Andora for many years, and training a precious few who could call themselves true masters of the sword, the samurai have heard the call to arms and embarked to pledge their fealty to the honorable leaders of the resistance. These fearless combatants will serve to their dying breath the cause of peace and will meet the evil head on which threatens it. Nearly single minded in their philosophy they defend homesteads, kingdom gates, city walls, and territory borders; from the common man and his family to imperial princes.

A soldier of fortune is one who hires their services out in exchange for money or other services. The soldier of fortune does whatever they can to meet their goals and as a rule of thumb, most have low morals and standards. They are bounty hunters, mercenaries, soldiers and the like. Entire mercenary armies are being formed on both sides of the coming war. Mercenaries and bounty hunters from all over the world are pouring into Andora to earn a bit of coin and conquest in the days and weeks which will play out during their employment. Some take up arms defending the shops of towns which are sure to be invaded, others join brute squads sent to clear and relocate civilians from out skirting villages in harms way, others join units of bloodthirsty and greedy thugs who want to scourge the weakened masses in the wake of a terrible battle. Some are good, some are evil, some rise to become great heroes, and others make money in the suffrage of others.

A thief, simply put, is one who takes that which does not belong to him. These slippery characters are deft and nabbing your money pouch and slipping away unseen. They can unlock your window from the outside, slip in, grab something and get out, and it will take days for you to realize they were even there. Excellent at hiding and sneaking, these underworld characters are skilled to say the least. The thief is a scavenger in these times of peril. They are the vultures of society and now have become an opportunistic plague which is dealt with in most cases in a martial law fashion. Some thieves choose to put their talents to use in the service of good, knowing that under the rule of the Nosferatu they would have much less chance of making off with any valuables than under the current rulers.

These are the most serious of characters, the nature of their chosen profession has caused them to abandon any pleasantries for the sake of their peace of mind. They rarely attach themselves to anyone on a personal level for fear that the Nosferatu will use it against them. They search field and farmhouse alike in search of their prey and must have skills of tracking and stalking like a ranger, have street smarts and underworld knowledge like a soldier of fortune, and knowledge of occult like a wizard. All of these skills brought together make the ultimate hunter of evil. They are possibly the most valuable soldier and freelance agent in the Battle for Andora. These famed hunters have the fierce task of slaying their way to the Nosferatu lords who command and spawn the forces, which now threaten peace across this great continent. Some misguided hunters join the side of the Nosferatu or simply are radical in their beliefs that ALL vampires need to be slain, and still attempt to kill off the Vampyre and Dampeel who strive to maintain the peace against the forces of the seven Houses.

A warrior is one who relies only on what he can see and do physically, and believes not in what is beyond the physical. As a result they have preened themselves to the best physical shape they can in an effort to make that which they desire happen. The warrior is used in many areas, as a guard, bodyguard, thug, assassin or even as a soldier. Warriors are made on battlefields such as these, and the battle for Andora will surely make famous many warrior before its end. The warrior will be on all sides of the fronts fighting for all sorts of causes. Many fight for wealth, fame, causes, or even the sheer rush of battle.

A ranger with the desire for but one prey, the elusive and deadly werewolf. These hunters are so skilled in finding their quarry that they often find themselves withdrawn from the rest of society. A socially conscious werewolf hunter can make a fine trade indeed by being hired to kill bothersome local werewolves and then selling the pelts to fur traders. The heads back be sold off or used a trophies and many parts can be used in magical formulae; a truly skilled adventurer. The for the werewolf hunter's services in this conflict are limited to clearing areas around the safe havens established by an army. Many of these hunters find themselves enlisting in other capacities that eventually find them stalking the prey, which they have long trained to hunt. Some hunters have taken it upon themselves to continue their efforts at hunting the werewolf for the purpose of trapping them which is an even more deadly prospect than killing them. These trapped wolves double in ferocity and are then loosed upon the enemy who must then deal with them quickly.

Any person who is skilled in the arts of magic can be classified as a wizard, be it the magic of natural sciences of alchemy, or the study of arcane cosmic lore, these magic users are one of the most dangerous enemies you could come across when they are studied. Many can be the greatest hope against evil, while others wish to simply make a living, supplying adventurers with the wares they need to do the same. Wizards from all over Andora are finding themselves in a very tight and torn situation. Many wizards are being pulled to the front lines to cast their spells in battle, and others are utilized in defensive means to protect people, heal them, or even provide magical wares and spells for others to deploy in battle with enchanted wares or scrolls. Alchemists are finding that their products are in very high demand, a demand which is being tried and hard pressed to meet all across the continent. The Mage's Guild and Magic User's Coalition have both publicly allied themselves with the Andorian Order's efforts at repelling the Nosferatu threat and most tasks for members directly involve the war in some fashion. As war threatens on the horizon, all sorts of people, even those who would previously never deal in magical wares, find themselves clamoring for the products and services provided by the many magical trades.
